Orlando, Florida

Considered by some to be the world’s playground, people come from all over to visit the theme parks near Orlando, Florida. While Walt Disney World is the main draw of tourism in the area, it is not actually in Orlando. Other theme parks such as Gatorland, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld are very popular within the city. Fresh seafood is offered on almost any restaurant menu whether it is Caribbean or Soul food. Try the local fare or eat at your favorite chain restaurant – pretty much any type of food is available in Orlando.

Vanilla Pumpkin Pie

This recipe is a great alternative to the one on the back of the pumkin mix can. I did have to more than double the sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg to get any kind of taste, but it came out great in the end!

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

I've been using this recipe since 2005 because I had surgery and had to be on a liquid diet for 6 weeks. I always make one minor adjustment though. I add two cans of real lump crab meat. It gives the soup some protein and a little more of a chunky consistency and adds just the right flavor. Otherwise, I follow the recipe to a T. You won't be disappointed in this one.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed on Nov. 26, 2008 by chef tara
I just made this to bring for tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner. I am kind of panicking because all I taste is the topping. I couldn't taste the bottom layer at all. Of course everyone will say they like it; it tastes just like candy! Making this from scratch, (aka not canned yams) I really hoped for a winner. I will update my review/stars after tomorrow.
