Such an easy way to make fried chicken! I added some panko to the flour mixture for some extra crunch and also some texas pete to the egg beat! It was fast, easy and delicious! I served it with the rosemary red potatoes from this site! A staple recipe, thank you!

This recipe was excellent!! Saltines and potato flakes really give the chicken a good texture. I did pound the chicken to 1/4 inch thickness so that it would cook faster without burning the outside.

I added a variety of crackers (saltines, Melba wheat and Wasa whole grain) as well as extra seasonings. I baked the chicken and doused with butter the last 10 minutes of baking. It still wasn't flavorful enough. Next time I'll put on a ton of seasoned salt (I used cajun). I would give it 3 1/2 stars if possible, but not quite 4.

When I told my food loving husband that we were having chicken fried chicken for dinner, he wasn't enthused due to my past record with frying meat. When he sat down at the dinner table he said, "Now this is what I would like to come home to a couple of nights a week!" Yeah, Cassie!!! It's now a staple in my home!

Okay- No joke, Tonight was my first time to ever cook a whole meal on my own... my husband is the real cook of the family. I decided to cook this, all I can say is "PERFECT"! I took 3 chicken breast and cut them up into little pieces so they would end up cooking like little chicken nuggets, they came out wonderful. I love this recipe!

Very good recipe and easy to make. Nice crispy coating on the outside. My son enjoyed crushing the crackers into crumbs, so of course he thought they were awesome! I did add a little onion powder to the mixture. Will make again.

This is an amazing recipe! My whole family loved it and it was fairly easy to prepare. I'm 14 years old and this was my first meal i ever made for my family and no one helped me. We only had chicken thighs, so i had to alter the recipe a little bit. The thighs had to cook for 25 minutes instead of 15-20 minutes, but they were soo juicy and tender. I also used oyster crackers instead of saltines and we didnt have potatoe flakes so i left that it. I added a few more spices and it turned out great. It took me a little over an hour to cook 7 chicken thighs. It was a very rewardinr recipe and is now my special. When ever there's chicken in the house, my family wants me to make it!

My family loved this chicken. I was going to make some country gravy, but ran out of time. Guess what? We found out it didn't need it! Thanks for the great recipe.

My husband loves fried chicken...just not usually mine! I tend to dry the chicken out and it does not normally have a good flavor. This recipe has changed his mind about my fried chicken! Wonderful!! (I did add a bit more pepper because we like it.)

I used crushed cornflakes because I did not have any crackers on hand. I used more seasoning than called for and I was just disappointed with the taste. Maybe I'm just not a fried chicken person.

Wow! Just the recipe I have been looking for! I made the crumbs fine instead of course and made a white sauce chicken gravy. Can't wait to make it again - Comes out perfect every time. I add sweet paprika, pepper and a dash of all purpose seasoning and a dash of seasoning salt. I leave out the flour from the crumb mixture, as suggested before, I dip the chicken in the flour first, then the egg (I mix a little buttermilk in with the egg) and then in the crumb mixture. My entire family LOVES THIS CHICKEN! Definitely a keeper! Thank you so much for sharing!! :0)

This was my first time frying chicken and it worked out pretty well. My family liked it but said it needed something...a kick. I needed to use 3 eggs, one was not enough. I think next time I'll try baking as I found the frying lengthy and tedious, also could not tell what the temp was at.

I wish that I could give this a 4.5. I'm giving it a 5, though...just because this is the first recipe for fried chicken that I've ever tried and it was very good. I made this twice this week. The second time, I skipped the flour and doubled the potato flakes instead. I also used garlic salt and crushed black pepper. I used canola oil rather than vegetable oil...trying to make this healthier. I also made some smaller strips for my 4 year old...he loved them. Very very easy recipe. Thank you! :)

This is an awesome recipe, next time Im going to go along with another review and make the chicken thinner prior to cooking so it cooks quicker and more thoroughly. Also in the breading mix I used Ritz crackers and some crumbled chips (this time I used BBQ flavor) along with some McCormick chicken seasoning, and garlic pepper, and it tasted soooo good.

I figured this would be a little bland so I added some Seasoned salt. Other than that this was very good. I will be using this again. The hubby & kids loved it. Thanks for sharing!

That's the key to cooking fried chicken, hot, hot when you first put it in, don't turn too frequently. Takes a while and practice so don't give up. Took me a few years to master the chicken frying. Now (I think because I was taught Southern cooking) I'm the best at it.
