WAY too much salt! The flavor is wonderful, but we couldn't eat more than a bite because it was just much too salty. Really, salt to taste! DO NOT follow the recipe in regards to the salt!

Just not good. Maybe it's because I lived in England for 3 years and had the real stuff prepared by the Indians wich was unbelievable. Sorry.

Very good recipe. After marinating the chicken, I sauted it instead of grilling it. Then drained the juice and added to the sauce.

I gave this a 5 but you MUST adjust the salt to be MUCH LESS! My son who is a new cook now makes this as a family favorite and adds a bit more garlic and less cayenne. It is now a regular meal of ours and just delicious! Can also make it ahead of time and reheat for a party buffet dish.

As others have pointed out, this is a 5-star recipe but only after adjusting the amounts of spices. For the marinade, I used only 1 tsp each of the cumin, salt and cayenne, and for the seasoning, only 1 tsp each of cumin and salt (even 1/2 tsp salt would be fine). I used 18% cream ("Coffee Cream" in Canada) instead of heavy cream, and for the garnish, I used sliced green onion greens because I didn't have cilantro. I cut out the time required to skewer, and just cooked the chicken in a deep frying pan on med-high for 10, discarding the excess marinade. The recipe here for the sauce makes just enough for 4 servings. Serve over Basmati rice, with naan bread as a side.

I love it but too salty and spicy. I should have adhere to the warnings in the reviews. Cut down the salt and pepper.

Even with the obvious error of the salt amounts called for I'm still giving this 5 stars. I tried Tikka Masala (any Indian food really) for the first time last week and liked it so much I wanted to try to make it myself. And while it didn't taste exactly like what I had it was pretty close. I really really liked it. It was just the right amount of spicy and creamy. Now for the tweaks, obviously didn't follow the amounts for salt (I don't know if that is someone's idea of a joke or what). I tossed a few pinches of salt into the marinade and sauce and that's it. I also cut the cayenne down to 1 tsp as I was afraid 2 might be a bit much. I'm glad I did. I like spicy food and it was a bit spicy, but the heat was in the back so you could actually taste the other ingredients. 2 tsps would have overpowered it for me. Served with Asian Coconut Rice and Chapati (both recipes on this site) and roasted sweet potatoes (peel, chunk, toss in olive oil, salt, pepper, roast 45 at 400). I will defnitely make this meal again.

Weird! I've always had Tikka Masala with tomatoes and cream and it is slightly sweet and delicious. This was plain SALT. Edit the salt amount and you might like it. I added 1 can of diced tomatoes...and it was better. It also needs coriander.

My daughter and I LOVED this recipe...husband did not, but only because he is NOT a fan of cumin (so that's his fault ;-) Only change I made was doubling the 2nd part of the recipe for more sauce to put over rice. Oh...and sauteed some ripe red peppers and tossed that in with the sauce and chicken. DELISH and SIMPLE!!!!

This recipe was so incredibly easy and fun to make and I highly recommend it! I only used about 2-3 teaspoons salt instead of the 7 or 8 that it called for and used half-and-half instead of the heavy cream. It turned out really good and really spicy!! I recommend those that like a more mild spice to their dish to maybe use 1/2 a jalepeno or cut back on the cayenne pepper. But this dish was great!

I wish I would have read the reviews before making this recipe. It was WAY TOO SALTY. Can't someone change the recipe to reflect the obvious?

My husband and I love this recipe! We used the suggestions, cut the salt in half or to none. Also toned down the spicyness a bit. We had this dish over butter rice pilaf, great combo. I'm a picky eater and he's loves a variety of quality/exotic foods and this worked for both of us! We've made it 3 times in 2 months.

Overall this recipe was good. We actually tried this on a george foreman instead of a grill and it worked really well with the skewers. We followed the recipe exactly and one thing we would omit is the salt - it was way too salty. Also, a little sugar and more tomato sauce might help tone down this spicy dish.

I make this recipe about once a week. I marinate the chicken overnight. I omit all the salt as per the recommendation of other reviewers. I replaced the japleno pepper with 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper. To thicken the sauce I saute 1/2 an onion in the butter until translucent before adding the spices. I have found that this recipe tastes better after it has been in the fridge overnight.

This recipe as written is inedible due to the salt content. I suggest reading the other reviews for correct salt quantities.
